Lesson Plan:

1. Introduction: Start with a brief review of what fractions are and why they're important in math.
2. Basic Fractions: Begin with basic fractions such as 1/2, 1/3, and 1/4. Teach how to identify the numerator and denominator, and how to simplify fractions.
3. Adding and Subtracting Fractions: Once the student has a good grasp on basic fractions, move on to adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominators. Practice with simple examples such as 1/2 + 1/2 = 1 and 3/4 - 1/4 = 1/2.
4. Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Different Denominators: Introduce adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators. Teach the student how to find the least common denominator and convert the fractions so they can be added or subtracted.
5. Multiplying and Dividing Fractions: Once the student is comfortable with adding and subtracting fractions, move on to multiplying and dividing fractions. Teach the student how to multiply fractions by multiplying the numerators and denominators separately, and how to divide fractions by flipping the second fraction and multiplying.
6. Word Problems: Finish the lesson with a few word problems that involve fractions, such as finding the fraction of a pizza that has been eaten or how many times a recipe needs to be doubled to feed a certain number of people.

Homework: Assign a few practice problems for the student to complete on their own, with a mix of basic and more complex fractions.
